This article is about to introduce Autel MaxiIM IM508 auto scanner diagnostic function.
Apart from the same IMMO function as IM608 when equipped with XP400Pro, MaxiIM IM508 also has basic but useful diagnostic function same as MaxiCOM MK808. It allows you to read/erase fault codes and read actual values.

On diagnosis, MaxiIM IM508=MaxiCOM MK808
When you enter “Diagnosis”, they have “Auto Scan” and “Control Unit” the same menu.
While on more advanced Autel diagnostic tools, they have more options like “Hot function”.
Demonstration on vehicle
Model: Mercedes-Benz W203 C240 2004.
After you input/auto scan vehicle info, it gives you access to 25 units.
On every unit it allow you to read ECU info, read&clear DTCs, event code and live data.
Each code it has detailed explanation.
Pros:
Basic but useful diagnosis (same as MK808)
Guided operation, detailed explanation on fault code and various ways to show live data.
Cons:
Diagnosis is basic, no bi-directional control like active/actuation test.
Who may need Autel MaxiIM IM508?
1.Want the function of keys, immo, and electronics programming without the need for the more advanced functions of diagnostic equipment. Typically a locksmith.
2.A group that already has advanced diagnostic equipment (MK908P) and wants new functions to complement what you already have.
