In this article, we’re going to use Autel MaxiIM IM608 Pro2 to detect if this 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 is supported for key programming. You can just plug through the OBD and choose “Smart Selection”. IM608 Pro2 will auto identify the vehicle and tell it is supported or not.
Generally, the last year that is supported to program keys for this model is 2014. That’s to say 2015 and up is supported by dealer only at this time. Anyway, we’ll use the tool to help verify.
Connect IM608S II to OBD,
IMMO >> Accept >> Mercedes-Benz >> Smart selection >> All keys lost(Fast) >> On vehicle(G-Box Fast)
Reading vehicle information…
During the process, let’s keep our Hazard on.
Press “Yes” to confirm.
Autel IM608 II gives the info:
“This is a 4th generation EIS and the software does not supported!”
So the software supports up to 3rd generation, 4th generation is still not supported.
This is a quick tip to check if the Mercedes is supported for key programming.
