Hey, we’re working on a 2015 Hyundai Santa Sport, it’s a push-start vehicle. There’s a check engine light on the dash, so we’re gonna use Autel MaxiIM IM508S to diagnose and see what fault codes there are.

So here we have one fault code in the engine, enter it:
ENG >> Trouble codes
P0420: Catalyst system efficiency below threshold(Bank 1)
After checking, we found it’s caused by fuel issue. So we were going to do some fuel additives.
To resolve the P0420 code can be tricky, as the fix depends on the cause. Resolve problems that ruin a Catalyst: Misfires, ignition issues, and fuel and/or intake problems can trigger the P0420 code, so mechanics fix them first to rule them out.
After repair, click “Erase codes”.
Ignition on and engine off? Yes.
DTCs and freeze data will be deleted. Click “Yes” to continue.
Trouble codes are not detected.
So now we’ve cleared the codes.
Let’s turn the engine to have a check.
The check engine light has gone!
