Using an Autel MaxiIM IM508S and an Autel AT100 Chip, I successfully programmed a new 4A key for a 2024 Kia Soul and tested whether a used Kia 4A key could be programmed again.
Key Preparation
- Check the used key. The transponder shows locked status and uses a 4A chip.
- Generate a Kia 4A transponder with an updated Autel XP400 PRO programmer: Transponder >> Transponder Generation >> Select by chip >> ID4A >> New ID4A Chip >> Generate
- Prepare both the generated Autel chip and the used key for testing.
Key Programming
- Enter: IMMO >> America>> SOUL(SK3) >> 2024- >> Blade Key >> Yes >> Immo status scan >> Add key >> Start
- Enter the vehicle PIN code.
- Insert the key to be programmed and turn ignition on. The procedure completes successfully.
Used Key Verification
- Attempt to register the previously used Kia key.
- Cycle the ignition and repeat the programming process.
- The vehicle does not accept the used key.
Results
- The generated Autel 4A chip programs successfully.
- The used Kia key cannot be programmed again.
- Based on this test, the transponder is not rewritable once used.
Verification
Start the vehicle with the newly programmed key and confirm normal operation.
